IT executives see compensation upswing
Salary and bonus increases for Informational Technology executives were among the industries positive notes, according to the “2005 InfoWorld Compensation Survey.”
For the first time in three years, Informational Technology executives noted an increase in salary, up 2.7 percent. Across the industry, salary increases stood at 12.2 percent in government and educational organizations and 3.1 percent in the private sector.
Also on the rise were bonuses, which jumped 19.7 percent, “making 2005 the year of the returning bonus,” noted the InfoWorld report.
“When combined with salary, bonuses accounted for an average increase in compensation of 4.2 percent. This parallels upward trends in some market sectors, as significant gains were seen in company-performance awards.”
