Nucor will invest $3.4 billion in one of Louisiana’s largest industrial projects in the history of the state. The company will build an iron and steel facility in St. James Parish, creating 1,250 jobs. Nucor had considered sites in the United States and around the globe before selecting Louisiana.

“This facility will create good jobs for American workers and, at the same time, it will help Nucor achieve our long-term goal of increasing control over our raw materials supply,” said Nucor President and CEO Daniel R. DiMicco.
