Siemens Canada is adding 50 jobs to its local plant. The hirings, announced yesterday, are part of its effort to get into the solar energy business. The company said it wants to become a local manufacturer of inverters for photovoltaic power generation. PV units, the company said, take power as generated and convert it to AC power — which is then supplied to the electrical grid.
